The History of CHAMPIONS
Building the Base
CHAMPIONS was founded and successfully piloted in the San Joaquin Valley by UCSF Fresno vascular surgeon, Dr. Leigh Ann O’Banion in 2021. CHAMPIONS has since attended multiple community events, and has served over 300 patients.
Our Work in California
In collaboration with vascular surgeons at UCSF’s San Francisco and East Bay branches and the Foundation to Advance Vascular Cures, CHAMPIONS is now working to scale the clinics to San Francisco’s East Bay communities.
Vision
CHAMPIONS is creating a consortium to scale the clinics nationally, working together towards addressing inequities in vascular disease.
